Choir Retreat: Today, 1:00 p.m. at the Walts' home. Chicken and drinks will be provided; bring a side dish to share. Please eat a snack before-hand as we will be rehearsing at 1:00 p.m. for a few hours before eating. Grades 9-12 along with adults are welcome to join the chancel choir! High schoolers can sing in either or both the chancel choir & youth choir if they choose.
Shepherding Group #8: This group will meet this evening, August 29, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at the home of Floyd and Janet Field.
Youth Group Planning: Tonight - parents and youth grades 2-12 are invited to the McBride's house at 433 W. 17th Street at 5:30p.m. for a relaxed time of fellowship and to talk about youth group plans for the 2010-2011 school year. Bring a snack to share and your ideas for youth groups.

FCC Scholarships: Attention students attending college the Fall semester, 2010! To apply for a scholarship from First Christian Church, please submit an application with your grade transcript from the previous semester to the church office by August 30, 2010. Kick-Off Sunday: Fall programming begins the week after Labor Day on September 12, 2010 with a home-cooked breakfast hosted by the Membership Commission. There will be a " Ministry Fair" in the Fellowship Hall. Each commission chair is asked to prepare a table display talking about their areas of ministry at FCC and providing an opportunity for volunteer sign-up. The new quarter of Sunday School classes also begin meeting on September 12, 2010.
Women in the World: A community-wide Bible study September through April will focus on Hebrews and Christ in the Old Testament. The cost for the year is $45.00; scholarships are available. A Children's Program is offered - Contact Angela at 577-5149 for reservations. Orientation for all new women on Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Class begins Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at 9:15 a.m. at Highland Park Community Church. Contact Andi at 237-4826 for more information.
