Week of Compassion

Recently, Vy Nguyen (the Executive Director of Week of Compassion) visited Puerto Rico to attend the 109th Annual Convencion of the Iglesia Cristiana (Discipulos de Cristo) in Puerto Rico (ICDCPR). Since the impact of Hurricanes Irma and Maria five months ago, many communities still lack access to basic needs like electricity and clean water. At the church where Disciples gathered in Dajaos, Bayamon, they are still without electricity and use loud, diesel fuming generators. Week of Compassion is working in partnership with the Iglesia Cristiana (Discipulos de Cristo) in Puerto Rico to transition from immediate relief to long-term recovery efforts.

"Muchas Gracias" from our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico. Disciples and the Week of Compassion are committed to rebuilding Puerto Rico for the months and years ahead, as well as other places around the world that have experienced disasters.

Through your gifts to Week of Compassion, especially during our special offering, you join Disciples in Puerto Rico in the much needed, long term recovery of the island.
